Micah Is Two!

My baby boy is two!  Wow...I really can't believe it.  Time as truly flown by in so many ways these past two years, and we have cherished every minute with him.

We celebrated Micah's birthday with our families in AR on March 15th.   We had such a fun party at Neena and Papa Dale's house...and boy, did our boy enjoy being the center of attention!  He simply ate it up and enjoyed every minute!  :)

 He really enjoyed his birthday party, and we're so thankful for wonderful grandparents and family who are so sweet to make our boy feel so special and loved!  What a fun time we all had!

On Micah's actual birthday today, he opened his presents from us.

 We had a fun day at home this morning, followed by a session of speech therapy, a good nap, and some outside playtime this afternoon.  We picked up Andy and headed to Chick-Fil-A for dinner.  Then we came home for some brownies and ice cream to celebrate!  We had to sing and blow out candles one more time!  :)

We love this little man more than words can express!  We loved celebrating him for the last couple of weeks!

Madi's Pinkalicious Party!

I can't believe I have not blogged since Halloween!  We had a very busy and fun holiday season followed by a very sickly January and February, but hopefully I can backtrack and get things caught back up on the blog soon.  Right now I want to post about our big girl's fifth birthday party this past weekend!  She wanted to have a Pinkalicious party (after the book "Pinkalicious" that she has LOVED and can quote every line), so this momma started searching for ideas and fun decorations back in January! :)  It was a lot of fun to prepare for!   She had such a blast, and that made all of the hard work and preparation so worth it!

The yummy cupcakes that Aunt Nae-Nae made for her party!  They looked just like the Pinkalicious cupcakes in the book (but they tasted even better than they looked!)

After all of the guests arrived (8 little girls and 2 toddlers), we began by making princess crowns to wear.  Everyone enjoyed decorating their crowns with jewels and foam shapes!

After we made the crowns, the girls (most of them) piled on Madi's bed to listen to the Pinkalicious story! 

The teacher in me came out, and I really enjoyed doing a read-aloud with the girls!  :)

I think everyone enjoyed their sweet pink treats!  We served cupcakes, pink almond bark pretzels, pink covered strawberries, and pink lemonade! 

Then it was present time!  Madi got a lot of craft stuff, including four sets of stamps!  We've been stamping up a storm the last couple of days!  :)

After she opened presents, we played a game of "Pin the Cherry on the Cupcake" and then went outside to bust a pinata as our final activity.  I didn't get any great pictures from these games, but all of the kids enjoyed them!  The pinata was a big hit!

After the party was over, Madi said it was "the best birthday ever" and gave Andy and I both a huge hug and said "thank you for her party."  That right there made it so worth it!  :)

Today we have celebrated her birthday by having a relaxing day at home, watching the snowfall and playing with her new toys.  She did get to open a couple of gifts from us this morning.

and a new scooter!  She has spent most of the day riding the scooter around the house.  We can't wait until we can get outside to enjoy it once the weather warms up!

It's been a fun-filled weekend celebrating such a special girl that we love so much!  Happy 5th birthday, Madilyn Kaye!

Halloween Fun!

Between a baby boy with an ear infection and some stormy weather, we were afraid Halloween was going to be a flop this year!  But, little man perked up and the weather cleared up just in time for us to have a lot of fun!

We began the evening at our church's Hallelujah Carnival!  There's usually a ton of activities outside, but because of the weather, those activities were cancelled and the carnival games were in the gym.  It was VERY crowded but fun!

Little man was content to watch while his big sister and Cooper jumped.  I put him in at the beginning, but they were bouncing so hard that he was flying up to the roof!  :)

 The carnival was very crowded and a little overwhelming for our kids, so we decided to head out for some trick-or-treating!  We're thankful to live next door to a nice neighborhood that is a big trick-or-treat "hot spot", so our kids had a blast!  This was more up Madi and Micah's alley!

Big girl rang the doorbell and said "trick-or-treat" without any assistance this year!

We had such a FUN night!  I think this is one of Madilyn's favorite holidays...what's not to love - dressing up, eating candy, playing games, and hanging with friends??!!  I'm so glad the weather cooperated, both kids felt good, and Andy was able to "skip" his class and enjoy the fun with us!
