1st Birthday Party - Barnyard Style!

While we were in AR for the weekend, we had a big 1st birthday celebration for our baby boy (sniff-sniff)!  His actual birthday is this Sunday (the 24th), but we went ahead and celebrated a week early so our families could join in the celebration!

Micah's birthday banner...get ready, because you'll see this every year for the next few years just as we've done with Madilyn's!

The honorary guest's seat of honor!

The precious smash cake Aunt Nae-Nae made!  (We won't show a close-up of his actual cake because the bakery we ordered it from didn't do a very good job.  But it still tasted good!)
Micah woke up from his nap and had a house full of guests!  He was a little overwhelmed by all the attention, but he quickly warmed up while opening his presents!
A choo-choo from Mammaw!

Ooh...some moo-lah!
Then we all enjoyed a delicious supper of spaghetti and chicken spaghetti, salad, and garlic bread.

Trying to feed a little boy who is way more interested in the balloons than his spaghetti!
 Cake time!

A family shot!

"And what exactly am I supposed to do with this fiery thing?"
We then stripped him down and prepared for the big "smash"!  I knew this would be a messy experience, and little man didn't disappoint!  :)
"Hmmm...what is this stuff?"

"Doesn't taste half-bad."

"Going in for some more."

"Yum!"

"This is a double-fist occasion!"

"Aren't I a mess???"
We headed straight for the bathtub after that!
"All better now, Mommy!"

The final damage on the cake...with no help from anybody else!

Micah was then on a sugar-high for the rest of the evening and was pretty much bouncing off the walls (or floors since he's still crawling)!  :)
We had such a special celebration for our sweet boy, and thank you to everyone who came to make it so great!  We can't believe he'll be 1 year old in just a few short days.  It truly has flown by!  I'll save his sentimental post for his birthday on Sunday.  :)
